Comments: This page seems interesting ! I am a Taekwondo black belt 1st dan holder and I'm intending to go for 2nd dan. I have been participated in Taekwondo since ten years ago, and I found out that Taekwondo is not for the street-type of fighting. Taekwondo expert is very flexible but its techniques are more toward sports. So, I joined Karate & Ninjutsu for about a year but didn't take any grading, just to learn their skills. Taekwondo is much more flexible than Karate or Ninjutsu but the latter have very good street-fight techniques. The main thing is don't compare between martial arts, each has its own merits. You can learn more than one martial arts but make sure you master one martial art first before you proceed.

Comments: There are shoots who is flower, but never blossom. Then there are shoots who is to blossom, but never bear fruit. -Confucius I found the site interesting and I enjoyed coming here. I study a style called Gorrilla Fist under 4th degree black belt, Mark Gowin. This style was formed from a system composing of 19 forms of martial arts, 10 karate and 9 Gung Fu, wrestling and boxing. I'm curently a 5th degree red belt in this style and I'm well on my way to getting my black belt in Febuary. I have a pretty good background in what I call karate science/knowledge and would enjoying working with anyone with questions. I'd also like to work with this site if at all possible, so please e-mail sometime. By the way, Fantastic Homepage. When one eye is fixed upon a destination, there is only one eye left in which to find a way. -Zen Riddle

Comments: I have been practicing Tae Kwon do for over an year and a half. I am now a blue belt and looking forward to the day when I earn my first Dan. I am a memeber of the ITF and the USTF. So far, this web page looks pretty good. I hope that soon there will be area's in it specific to Tae Kwon Do. Often times, martial arts publications center on the more aggressive arts.In addition, I am excited about the prospect of a martial arts cable station. Only problem is, if it is really good, I will spend all my time watching it and forgo other important activies like coaching basketball, spending time with my son and the all important aspect of life...work!

Comments: Hey out there. My name is Robb and I've studied a lot of Martial Arts. One thing that you don't here a lot about is the relationship between MA and health. I am not talking fitness, that's obvious, but about preventative and recuperative medicine. Some studies have shown and some doctors recommend Tai Chi Chuan to Heart Attack patients. That is my true interest in MA. Also the large similaritybetween the different disciplines. So link up to my page and let me know what you think. Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu.

Comments: I have a 7 year old son who currently trains at A.J. Bartlinski's Martial Art of Karate Blue Dragon Dojo in Glen Burnie, MD. We maybe moving soon to the Pittsburgh, PA area and if there are any schoolsin that area where he could train I would like to hear from you. He is now 5th kyu. I used to do a variety of styles, Isshinryu, Kodokan Judo, Shotokan, Chinese Kaju-Kenpo, Gojo-Ryu, got tired of being "busted" to white belt every time we moved. Do not want to subject myson to this; do not want him to be discouraged and quit when he has worked so hard esp. since he is young. Style is T'ang Soo Do. Any chance of help out there?

This is definitely an art that requires intense devotion as mastery doesn't come from how well you can break bricks or shout at the top of your lungs as you throw a punch. Comments: Hi, I've now been studying Taekwondo for over a year, and I am now lookingto switch to another more complete art that covers all areas of combat rather than concentrating on kicking alone, e.g a more effective art for thestreet. If anyone has any suggestions on a practical alternative to Taekwondo (note: prefferably not anything as viscious as Tae boxing)please email me at: mynameissteve@hotmail.comNote: I am not saying Taekwondo as an art is innefective, it is more likelyto be that my club is not as good as others.

I used to train 8 times a week between the ages of 12 and 17 (I must have either been a total enthusiast, or simply mad?!?!).I also hold the official World Tamashiwara Record for smashing 1000 concrete roofing tiles, which I performed for UK television (Record Breakers show) and for a TV show in Thailand (Tarm Pai Doo)- (I perform this quite a few times during the year for charity events too). Well.....some people just collect stamp as a hobby, other, however, like smashing concrete roofing tiles and attacking each other!!Good luck to all you out there training hard in whichever Martial Art you choose. Comments: Japanese Fighting SpiritLike a cat ready to pounce on a mouse, I eye my adversary for a weakness. The tension between us could be cut with a knife. Nervious sweat dripped from our brows as the moment of truth approached. At the same instant we jolted into action. My sword hits the mark, lops off his right ear, shreds his left jaw and crunches his entire shoulder. He tumbles to the ground like a sack of potatoes as I sheath my sword. To my dismay, three of my digits litter the floor. In the art of sword fighting you must always remember: "VICTORY HAS ITS PRICE" The ultimate physical game of chess for the martial artist. GOSHINDO,(Kombat Kenjutsu) is a smorgasbord. Knives, short and long swords, double swords, and spears flail and slash at blinding speed. In a few short breaths of trial and error one can experience the reality of cracking Sparticus' skull or crushing his bones to a fine featherdust. With the invention of AIR SOFT TM. Chanbara swords we are now able to effectively fight at 100% of our strength, power and capability. In a relatively short period of time you will master those parries, blocks, thrusts and cuts you have practiced for so many hours at you dojo or residence.
