Comments: i have practiced tae kwon do for about 2 years, i really like the kicking in this style of martial arts. i have not been in practice for about a year. i am currently looking at other styles of martial arts because with tae kwon do, you have to back up to fight, because your so used to kicking first. we all know that most of your confrontations start up front face to face. what style of martial arts would you recomend? currently i have looked aikido, hapkido, choi kwang do, and ninjitsu. thanks april stancliff

Comments: Great idea! Glad to see people working to get martial arts into the public consciousness as more than just entertainment. Entertainment is wonderful of course, but there needs to be more exposure to martial arts as art and as a way of living and what that means to different martial artists. I hope that's at least part of what you want to accomplish. Judging by the list of advisors I saw, looks like you're off to a great start! Here's an idea: even though there are more marial arts styles and unique variations thereof to ever fully catalog, what I would like to see is more exposure for martial arts that came from a non-asian background. I want to make clear that this NOT because of any bias of mine toward any asian arts. Its just that lots of asian arts get plenty of coverage already, those are the one that the general public hears the most about. What about arts like Savate, Capoeria (sp?), and Sokol, or Western style boxing and wrestling? The asian cultures weren't the only ones to come with unarmed combat arts. Every culture on earth came up with some kind of unarmed and armed fighting style, and that's something we shouldn't forget. Comments: I am a practioner of 18 daoist palms kung fu, my teacher is GRANDMASTER JUNG SHEE LACY 7th generation , His title was earned in white tiger kung fu. I was taught to use chi power to break coconuts, this is the real test to breaking! Breaking boards are easy, even untrained people can break boards, coconuts have no grain this is why it is the true test of ones chi development. Need more details please write.
