School Owners, Try this in your classes

I make videos for my students now twice a week, Thursdays at 5:45 and Saturdays at 11:45 to accommodate the demand. I don’t charge for this service however it is reasonable to do so if you wish to. At first I was trying to email the videos to my students but quickly found that the files were too large. Here is what I came up with. I opened a YouTube account for our school, then give all of our students the “Login and Password”. Now when I help students make videos I send the videos right to our school account. This works great, our students now go to our schools YouTube account, login and will now find their videos waiting for them. The students can click on the video to play it right there on YouTube, capture the URL and bring it right over to our competition website for upload. Another choice would be, to download it to their computer, where by they can learn editing skill like adding Titles and Credits. I have noticed Parents love this and are really wanting to get involved. Important: change your password to your YouTube account every few months. You will start to find your students/parents will ask you for it.

As another helpful way of engaging students and parents alike; follow these steps. You will notice when the students get their video’s emailed to their home, students and parents are more likely to participate in your tournament.

1. Create a YouTube Account for your school.

2. Create a CVS. File of all your students (Name and Email Address)

3. Video tape your students

4. Get all student videos off camera on to your computer

5. On computer rename each video with students first name and the first initial of last name also place subject of the video example (Ron T Bo Staff)

6. Go to your Youtube school account and “Upload” all videos

7. Once all videos are Uploaded to YouTube from your computer, display both your YouTube account with all the videos of your student also on the same screen the CVS file side by side.

8. Open note pad or sticky note (sticky notes are better) and write this “Here is Ron’s video take this to virtualmaschoolowners to enter the tournament. If you need help please call me. Thank you” Leave note Pad open in task bar.

9. Open first video in Youtube with the video opened click on “Share” choose “Email” From CVS file cut and paste email address below email a box will say “Ad Massage” open Note Pad copy and paste Text. In the massage change the name for each student you email a video to.

10. On CVS file highlight the names of students you email. You will now be able to see quickly the students you need to make videos with. This will maximize you students participation in your tournaments
